Following up on the earlier post about Ted Turner, an article appeared today in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. It’s something of mini-biography of Mr. Turner and all of his Montana connections and land purchases throughout recent decades. The article describes Mr. Turner as a conservationist and a philanthropist of the first order. Although some of his land purchases have been controversial throughout the years, it seems clear that he has a true passion for the land, as well as the wildlife that call it home.
Of the approximately 2 million acres Mr. Turner owns, something like 600,000 of them are on the Great Plains, and many of those are home to large buffalo herds. Here is a link to a map of the ranches and properties owned by Ted Turner throughout the West. It also lists some of the conservation efforts that are occurring on those properties.
