Here’s a quick update on a story I blogged about a few months back. As you may or may not recall, this past summer the town of Scenic South Dakota was for sale for the tidy sum of $799,000. Well, it turns out that a buyer has been found. It appears that the buyer is Iglesia ni Cristo, a church based out of the Philippines, but with offices in Daly City, California. Apparently (all of this is according to an article in the Rapid City Journal), the church has been silent and secretive as far as what its plans may be for the town. This leaves local nearby residents wondering a bit.
What will become of scenic Scenic, South Dakota? Who can say, but perhaps it will be for sale again someday . . . stay tuned . . .
