All Rivers Flow to the The Big Easy

Here’s very quick update on my earlier post regarding Great Plains teams in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.  It appears that the Great Plains will be sending one team to New Orleans in what is known as the Final Four.

I will return to our look at major rivers of the Great Plains very soon, but I do find it interesting that there is a connection to the rivers of the Great Plains, and the city of New Orleans.  All of the rivers in the Great Plains, big and small, will eventually flow east to the Mississippi, and then south to enter the Gulf of Mexico at New Orleans.  Cool huh?

Anyway, The Kansas Jayhawks just defeated the North Carolina Tarheels (a decidedly non-Great Plains team) to advance to the Final Four along with Kentucky, Louisville, and Ohio State.  Kansas will play Ohio State in the semi-final game on Saturday March 31.  I say GO JAYHAWKS!
