Great news is coming out of South Dakota where Wind Cave National Park just added over 5,500 acres to the southern end of the park.  The land was a former ranch which was purchased by The Conservation Fund before being annexed by the park (an 11 year process).

The new section includes a small cliff band called the “Buffalo Jump” where Native Americans would have driven buffalo over the cliff.  At the link below there are some photos of the new acquisition.  The land is strikingly beautiful – a fantastic representation of the beauty of the Great Plains.  It’s great to have a little bit more of it for the public to experience.
