The Centennial Trail – South Dakota

The Centennial Trail (CT) in South Dakota was developed in 1989 to celebrate the state’s centennial year. It runs for over 100 miles north/south through the Black Hills region. It crosses some outstanding scenery and hits highlights such as Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, and Black Hills National Forest. We’ve covered this trail before, but now we can do it with more detail. GPTA board member Clay Bonnyman Evans recently returned from a southbound thru hike of the GPT Pilot Trail, and wrote a nice piece on the trail for the online magazine, The Trek.
